Gordon had been sick for quite some time now. He had been fighting cancer, and the battle was quite difficult for him. Gordon had been going through chemo for at least three months now, and he has been extremely tired because of it. He has been spending a great deal of time in bed.

I went out to the store to get him some things that he could do in bed. I got him some books to read, some crossword puzzles he could solve, chess sets that he could play with when I or another person is around to play with him, some electronic games, and a couple of new computer programs.

When I came to visit Gordon in the hospital, I brought all of those things with me. When he got them, he was absolutely thrilled. He could not believe that I went out of my way like that for him. I told him I did it because I loved and cared about him. That satisfied him.
